By Efio-Ita Nyok|30 March 2015| 2:00 pm Unconfirmed reports in Cross River State capital, Calabar, suggest very strongly that the National Assembly candidates of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), namely Mr. Gershom Bassey and Rt. Hon. Essien Ayi, who are respectively vying for the Senate and House of Representatives slots of the state, have defeated the Labour Party (LP) candidates, to wit, Senator Bassey Edit Otu and Rt. Hon. Dominic Aqua Edem. While INEC is yet to announce results, but until evening of today, Monday 30 March, it has been rumoured by some that sequel to casting of votes by the electorates on Saturday 28 March, INEC was understood to conduct a sham vote at Idundu village, in Akpabuyo L.G.A, a remote dead end of the state. Besides, there have been reports of the Governor , His Excellency Senator Liyel Imoke intimidating INEC officials, which stand to reason then that the election will not be free and fair. Our News Desk will communicate unfolding events accordingly.
