The late Afro music maestro,
Fela Anikulapo kuti’s evergreen song “palava” is to my mind what many Lagosians took to their heels to avoid when a Tanker supposedly carrying inflammable liquid caught fire while on motion.
The event took place two days ago, on wednesday 22nd of April, 2015 at the popular Muritarla Muhammed Airport in Lagos.

According to eye witness account It would have been another tale of sorrow in our Nation but this was apparently avoided.

The incident is a replica of what I may call  “yanga dey sleep, trouble kan wake am… Palava.. “. To borrow from Fela’s music. Expect that the passengers at the Airport on seeing the oncoming death inviting Tanker, heading to what seems like their direction only had to run for their dear lives so as to escape danger.

As the scenerio continued, rescue operations and fire fighters had to intervene by fighting off the fire. Thank the Heavens they arrived quickly contrary to their ever lackadaisical attitude of always not being available in such cases of emergency.

However, we should thank the Heavens that they actually succeeded in putting out the already gathering inferno as it would have been catastrophic.
