NEWS: Mohammadu Buhari Formally Declared The Winner of Nigeria’s 28 March 2015 Presidential Election

Yesterday 31 March 2015, the chair of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, sequel to collating and announcing the state election result of Borno, finally announced the results of the 28 March 2015 Presidential Elections that saw the emergence of Mohammadu Buhari, the opposition All Progressive Congress(APC) candidate as the president-elect with a total of over 15 million votes.

Below is the total votes for the 14 political parties that had presidential candidates and other facts:

> APC – 15,424,921
> CPP -, 36,300
> HOPE – 7,435

> UPP – 18,220
> Total valid votes – 28,587,564
> Rejected votes – 844, 519
> Total – 29,432,083

By this Mohammadu Buhari was formally declared to be the winner of the March 28, 2015 Presidential Election with a gross total vote of 15,424,921 by the INEC boss.

The President-elect, Major General Mohammadu Buhari(rtd), is billed to address the Nigerian public by 11am today April 1, 2015.
