I saw this and I think I need to post it here…

This article is written based on request by a someone who pleaded anonymity. It is meant to draw attention to the ailing standard of our medical system. This time not necessarily in infrastructure but in how practitioners attend to patients.

University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar which is one of the leading teaching hospitals in the nation was recently labelled “most disgusting hospital ever” by a my source who claims a close friend of his died out of negligence and nonchalant attention by the nurses and student doctors who did not know what to do.

In his words, this is what he said
“I watched my friend struggle for hours and the student doctor there knew not what to do. The nurses acted like her life meant nothing to them.
They allow student doctors play around with people’s lives”

According to him he is still mourning his friend and he believes his friend could have survived if only he had been properly and promptly attended to.

This article is written to serve as a notice to draw to attention authorities that are responsible to regulate and check irregularities in hospitals and especially UCTH.
I may not be able to state whether other casualties have resulted due to this problem but with this story I want to believe this may not be the first time. But then, I hope this will be the last time.

Thank you!
