Nigerians anticipates for a new Nigeria as President Goodluck Jonathan bows out for Buhari, the president-elect.
There is high expectations from the Rtd General especially by those who are Change Driven.
No doubt, Nigeria as a country has undergone many hurdles and internal rubbish conflicts some of which have been prophesied to lead her into complete disintegration and destabilization as purported by the international “watchdogs” who to my mind anticipates Her (Nigeria’s) down fall.
But contrary to their opinion, Nigeria has stubbornly refuse to throw in the Towel. She has refused to bulge, to bow and to bend towards doom.
No doubt, many conscious efforts were put in place to achieve this lofty height. Irrespective of the problems we have faced as a Nation as they range from fuel scarcity, devaluation of the Naira, Theft, insurgencies, inequitable distribution of wealth, low calorie in take, mortality rate, budget deficits, abuse of power in the corridors of Power etc which are all the instruments that depicts a “fallen Hero” in this case, Nigeria, yet we still have turned out as a Diehard.
Commenting on the outgoing ruling party, PDP, there seems to be so many volumes to write about. But I must confess that despite the flaws in the Jonathan administration, I make bold to say that if only we can remove the Big Goggles that beclouds and impairs our sight, we would at least still commend the Daring faith of the person of Dr Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan.
I am careful to refer to his person and not his position premised upon the fact that.. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Anybody can criticize leaders and their leadership styles. Some have even called themselves social critics but statistics have shown that majority of these people when given an opportunity to serve, turn out as more corrupt than these they have criticized. Hereby, clinging to political Power, position and the privileges that follows as though it is their Family inheritance.
Without much ado, The Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan administration is to my mind worthy of double honour, if not for anything but for ensuring that the international community’s Prophecy that Nigeria would disintegrate by the year 2015, did not come to pass or see the light of day.
I commend his courage to concede defeat in the just concluded Election in which he was voted out of power as the will of the people prevailed. Such is to my mind, a noble act. It is were some other individuals, they would be raising dust even as we speak. For GEJ, He refused to succumb to the temptation of putting his personal interest about the good of the Nation, to that I say kudos to Him.
As we await the swearing in of a New Government today, which is the Government of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, I am compelled to advice (supposing that he is reading this piece) that He should remember that Nigerians anticipates a positive change from Economic recession to Economic development. We anticipates a change from Budget Deficits to Budget Surplus. We expect him to fight corruption and insurgencies ensuring that this twin evils are reduced as well as crippled to their bareless minimum.
Our hopes are high, we have given him support sacrificing our self interests, our religious sentiments and ethnocentric reductions.  In fact, permit me to warn at this juncture, that we did not vote for a Muslim, we voted someone we believe and hope will lead this Nation into a land flowing with milk and Honey.
As I conclude, my Last words for the incoming Government is summarised as thus :
It is time to act and act right.
Nigerians will hold you responsible for what you do and whatever you fail to do. You have no excuse not to bring about the positive CHANGE we all desire and crave for. You have all the arsenals at your disposal. There is no room for excuses. No room for failure. No room for frightfulness.
To succeeding president Buhari, I make bold to enlighten, that ” To whom much is given, is so much expected”. Nigerians are watching, the international community is also watching.
Take my humble advise ,  please spare no corrupt politician, acclaimed godfathers. Kill if you must Kill, probe if you must probe, imprison if you must. Do whatever you must do to restore the lost glory of Nigeria, and sanity in the ivory tower of Aso Rock.
Remember what Rollins did in Ghana, what Madella did in South Africa, what prime minister, Lin quan Yew did in his country as the list continues. Fight the good fight for peace, progress and prosperity in Nigeria and May God help and guide you through.
