Ekun Samuel, 30 June 2015.

Host Chile are through to the final after defeating 10 Men Peru 2-1 in Monday's semi-final at Santiago.

It has been a long awaited final for the host Chile who has never won the Copa America since 99 years of trying, and first final since 1987.

Two goals from former QPR striker Eduardo Vargas first in the 42nd minute, second from the the 64th minute was enough as Chile cruise to their first final in 28 years.

Though the first goal was cancelled by Mendel's own goal but it wasn't enough as 10 Men Peru couldn't withstand the test of time.

Peru were reduced to 10 Men just 20 minutes of game played with red card shown to  Carlos Zambrano.

Host Chile awaits the winner of the other semi-final game between tournament favourites Argentina, or Paraguay who plays later today, with final to be played on Saturday.
