The underlying article first appeared as a social media thread by the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pst Usani Uguru Usani, on 15 November 2015.
However, after about two weeks, the post seem to be trending among some influential CrossRiverians. It's on this strength that I decided to publish here unedited for the reading pleasure of our numerous fans.
Below are excerpts of the post as it appeared a forth night ago.
'It does not matter what soup you eat, what clothes you wear, nor what language you speak -be it Ijaw, Edo, Urhobo, Yakurr, Itsekiri, Yoruba, Igbo, Efik, Kalabari, Ibibio, Bette, Ikwerre etc., I am for you.
I am for the development of the Edo & Delta man; for the Cross River & Akwa Ibom man; for the Rivers & Bayelsa man. I am for the Abia & Imo Man. I am for the Ondo man: their human capital and
material capital development.
To the old, you are my parents, you will be protected; to the elderly, you are my associates, so I look up to your sacrificial and productive
cooperation & synergy; and to the youth, you are my friends, I love you beyond your imagination, so I
will give you nets to fish. These're the partnerships for CHANGE.
We have taken the first, second, third and fourth steps; but there are several steps to take. Therefore, let's consistently work in the energy of
these partnerships; because past defeats will seduce, so as to attempt to conquer us again; ugly trends will entice, so as to try to confuse us more; unfortunate situations will also tempt, in order to distract us. But we shall stand upon the Solid Rock- unmoved, and shall overcome.
Since the development of the Niger Delta is an examination we ALL must pass, our unfailing spirit of
Hope, Faith, Ethics, Trust & Hard work MUST overcome that of Despair, Death, Theft and
Destruction. Only this can protect our Heritage!
