Fellow Cross Riverians,

I greet you all as we enter a new year. A  year our  Local Governments in the State would be going to the polls to elect leaders in the Local government level.  I join you all in thanking God for seeing us through the year 2015 which brought a new government in the State and at the center in- spite of all the challenges God kept us safe.

As a people, God has been merciful to us and he has continually shown himself to us on many occasion regardless of the many challenges the State has faced as a result of the dwindling oil price in the International market.

For me, I celebrate the new year with so much joy because God has blessed Our State with men and women who mean well for CRS. And so we must always thrive to protect the legacy of our heroes past. Men and women who fought to protect our common unity.

As we join the rest of the global community in celebrating the new year, I urge Cross Riverians to be diligent, patriotic, and remain focused towards moving CRS forward.

The year 2016, should be a year where our State would be changing levels. All hands must be on deck towards developing CRS. Cross Riverians must understand that we have a responsibility and a task in making CRS great again. In putting CRS on the world map I call on Governor Ben Ayade's appointees to put in their best in restoring the lost glory of the State.

A lot of emphasis must be given to the fallen standard of Education in the State. The education of our young people must be given key priority . I urge all stakeholders in the key education sector to understand that the future of our dear State lies in the hands of our young people and must be given quality education.

As we enter into the new year, so much attention must be given to the Health sector in the State. We must improve the Health condition of our people. All stakeholders in the Health sector must work towards the provision of quality Health-care for all and sundry in the State.

CRS over the years has always being known to be the cleanest city in Nigeria, we must work towards keeping our State clean and green for our citizens in order to maintain the tourism destination we are know for.

Fellow Cross Riverians, the journey towards putting CRS on the world map is a tasking one but must we must make commitment, we must speak with one voice. We must resolve to protect the interest of our people at all times.

Let's shun greed, hatred and back stabbing as we enter the New Year.

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Thank you!

Prince Thomas Abi Jr.
