In the attempt to demonstrate the utter foolishness in the ongoing executive spending spree of the government of Cross River State as evidenced in the anticipated Miss Climate Change pageantry billed to take place during the Carnival Calabar 2016, a leading social commentator, Ifere Paul, has taken it upon himself to nominate a beehive of 30 female Cross Riverians, beauty queens in their regards who are 'Black, Bold, and Brains'.

It's no more news that the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Mr Ben Ayade has invited no fewer than 30 beauty queens from all over the African continent to feature in the maiden edition of Miss Climate Change Pageantry. 3 contestants out of the 30 are anticipated to clinch on a First Price of $25,000.00, Second Price of $15,000.00, and Third Price of $10,000.00 ($50,000).

As I write, these 30 beauties are already domiciled in Calabar, the state capital. Commentator Paul as at yesterday nominated two Cross Riverians, namely, Calabar-born Kate Offiong Henshaw and Abi-born Vivian Anani.

According to Paul,

'As an environmentalist, I should be happy that my Governor, who himself is an environmentalist is organising a Climate Change pageantry. In fact, such environmental impact awareness are rarely talked about. A lot of people believe that Climate Change is a scientific phenomenon, albeit, fiction created by some powerful nations to underdevelop growing economies that depends largely on fossil fuels to grow.

'It is encouraging therefore that, Governor Ben Ayade will be planning a Climate Change Pageantry to assuage doubters of this climate change stories.

'However, that our Governor will invite outsiders to Cross River State to come compete for $50,000.00(Fifty Thousand Dollars) just like that is something which is very annoying. If we don't have areas to spend such a huge amount of money, at least, we can spend it on our own beautiful home grown talents.

'Cross River State has beautiful and talented queens. The Bold, Black, and Beautiful.  They got class and brains. And above all, they have assets in the front and behind.

'I will be unveiling Cross River State most beautiful ladies. They have managed to build an empire for themselves singlehandedly. Their faces are splashed on every newspaper, fashion magazines, and television screens.

'I will be unveiling 30 beautiful Cross Riverians that can compete to represent Cross River State as the face of Climate Change Calabar, Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.', his statement read in part.

This was contained in his social media thread titled, 'Governor Ben Ayade Climate Change Pageantry: Where The Governor Got It All Wrong'.

Kate Offiong Henshaw's profile

Kate Henshaw was born in Cross River State, the oldest of four children. After completing her primary and secondary school in Lagos and Calabar, she spent one year at the University of Calabar doing a remedial program, and then moved on to Lagos where she studied Medical Microbiology at the University of Lagos.

She started acting earlier in primary and school school, and will have her major breakthrough in 1993 when she played the lead role in the movie "When the sun sets"

Today, Kate Henshaw has surpassed her imagination in her acting career. She has acted all sort of roles. She is an Ambassador to so many products, companies, and service providers in Nigeria and abroad.

The name Kate Henshaw automatically rings a bell in school children with the popular ONGA Cubes, an advert that featured "Flavour" which was a commercial on Papa Ajasco, and many other programs. She is a panelist on the popular tv show "Nigeria Idol"

In 2014, she contested for the CRS House of Assembly Member under the PDP. She failed the primaries and then went back to her TV roles. She is a singer, a dancer, a comedian, a fashionista, movie personality manager, director, dramatist, etc.

Early into the Ben Ayade administration, rumours was that Kate Henshaw will be featured as the "Ambassador" of Cross River State Face of Tourism. However, Iyanya was later selected in Lagos to represent the State.

Kate Henshaw with her connections in the movie industry will in fact add more value into the Miss Climate Change Cross River State contest. She is a member of one of the bands of Calabar Carnival.

She is Black. Bold. Beautiful. And Brains. She is gifted back and front.

Vivian Lady-v Anani's Profile

Lady-v Vivian Anani is a motion picture Director, Actor, Dramatist, Singer, and Fashionista. She is beautiful. Talented. Black, Bold, and Brains. God has blessed her with everything from hips, chest, and a nice backside.

She will be my number one nominee for Miss Climate Change Face for Africa and the world.

Besides, we will be encouraging a home grown talent. It will probably cost way less to put Miss Vivian Lady-v Anani as our Miss Climate Change (Culled from Ifere Paul's Facebook wall).

What do you think of Paul's nomination vis a vis Ayade's pageantry?
