AYADE HISTORIC VICTORY: Young Democratic Party (YDP) takes a Surprising Stance!

Sequel to the historic judgment at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Abuja on Friday 9th December in the finally laid to rest suit, Joe Agi SAN Vs CRS PDP where the pendulum of justice swung in favour of the incumbent Governor of Cross River State, Mr Ben Ayade, the Young Democratic Party (YDP) in Cross River has enjoined Ayade to resume what it referred to as ‘real governance’.

This information was conveyed in social media threads the state Chairman, Leader, and Publicity Secretary, Messrs Castro Ezama, Anthony Bissong Attah and Emmanuel Oko Ogar respectively registerd recently.

According to Mr Attah, ‘Now that the Supreme Court has affirmed the mandate of Governor Benedict Ayade as Governor of Cross River State, Young Democratic Party hereby enjoins him to resume real governance. We have heard a lot from him. It’s time to work the talk’. On the other hand, Mr Ogar contended that, ‘Now that the matter is settled, Ayade should be focused in delivering his electoral promises. No excuses again.’ For Mr Ezama, ‘Governor Ayade just won at the Supreme Court. Let’s join hands and move this State forward. CRS does not and will never belong to a selected few.’

Deductions from their social media threads suggest that CRS YDP is critical of the policy approach of the PDP-led state administration of Mr Ben Ayade. Such phrases as —’We have heard a lot from him. It’s time to work the talk’, ‘Ayade… No excuses again.’, ‘CRS does not and will never belong to a selected few’, are evidently critical of Ayade’s governance style. Let’s see whether the present state government will heed this clarion call.
