Last weekends festive season turns sour as the University community of ile ife were taken off guard over the lost of two promising students of the University in the same day.

The news of the eventual demise of a 400level student of the department of medicine and surgery, Oluwaseun Olorunfemi on the 25th of December
(Christmas), came as a shock to the Students and Staff of Obafemi Awolowo University.

Negroidhaven garnered that the deceased, Mr Olorunfemi was prior to the time of his death, hospitalised and in Coma due to the fact that he was allegedly knocked down by a hit and run driver which left him seriously injured and unconscious on that fateful day, the 20th of December 2016.

According to a source femi was until his demise, a choir leader in the deeper life campus fellowship of the University.

As if that was not enough, another bombshell fell, this time it is the death of a 100L female student of the University who was said to have also died barely 24 hours after the death of Olorunfemi was made public.

According to our source, She is a 100level student of Education and English, who goes by the name, Oyeleye Taiwo.

NHB garnered that She passed on at the University's Teaching Hospital precisely on the 26th of December after a brief illness.

Laying credence to Nairaland, which argued that the deceased had complained of severe headache and on arrival at the Hospital, there where no doctors to come to her aide and administer proper medications as it was the peak of the festive period.

It is really a sad incidence for the University. One can only wonder why such heart aching incidence would happen at such a time in which people are expected to be in celebration mood.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the mortuary. However, our correspondence have hinted that investigations are still on going and that the true cause of her death cannot be conclusively drawn except it is confirmed by autopsy from medical experts.

Until then, we are coerced to suspend conclusive judgment.

We however pray their souls rest in perfect peace and that God grant their families the heart to bear their loss.

NB: "The reports of these deaths are said to have been announced at a time when the school is on a festive break between December 23rd and January 3rd".
