A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River state, Mr. Odey Ochicha has felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki on their 74th and 54th birthdays.
Ochicha, in a goodwill message sent to the duo, he appealed to Nigerians to pray fervently for mutual understanding between the Senate and the Executive to ensure success of President Buhari’s administration.
The APC chieftain who was the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the 2015 governorship election in the state maintained that Nigerians should look beyond the challenges confronting the country and pray that the sacrifices of the two leaders and the Nigerian people yield positive results.
President Buhari letting a dove on his 74th birthday celebration
According to him, “I want to congratulate our President and the Senate President on theiron their 74th and 54th birthdays. It is not easy especially when you consider that life expectancy in Nigeria is between 50-65. Being in power at 74 especially for the President has clearly showed that God gave him long life for a purpose; a purpose which can only be achieved through our collective resolve to move Nigeria forward.
“I want to appeal to all Nigerians across party lines to use this opportunity to pray for the President and the Senate President.  Their success will not only be a success for the APC but all Nigerians. Let’s look beyond our challenges and see the sacrifices our leaders aremaking to better the lots of every Nigerian”.
He added that, “God is not an author of confusion but peace, progress and prosperity. He knows why he gave us President Buhari at this trying time. The only thing we owe him now is our support and prayers because what he is doing is sacrifice. At 74, he has seen it all and has led in different capacities so God brought him back to take us to the promise land”.
