The Honourable Member representing Ogoja State Constituency in the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly, Mr Peter Odey, will be presenting food items and monetary gifts worth millions of Naira to members of his immediate constituency NegroidHaven can authoritatively inform.
In a phone interview with our correspondent yesterday, an organiser of the one-day event namely Mr Abang Ogon who incidentally is social activist from the said constituency said that the lawmaker is embarking on this project during this yuletide to ensure that no member of his constituency especially the needy celebrates this season in an hungry stomach. In his exact words, 'This gesture is directly targeted at the very needy, to make sure no body in Ogoja celebrates the yuletide in hunger. Believe me this gesture isn't for the high and mighty, it is deliberately targeted at the poor, I will furnish you with the time table of event (ward by ward) soon, please inform the very needy in your ward to turnout'.
In Honourable Odey's words, 'I know how challenging times are but it is pertinent upon us to make sure nobody in Ogoja celebrates the yuletide in hunger'.
