WISEUP CROSS RIVER: Commissioner for Health Commends UNFPA’s preeminent HIV campaign

Yesterday 22 December the Cross River State Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Inyang Asibong, was one of the state high profile public office holder who visited the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s HIV campaign zone in Cross River State capital city, Calabar.
It would be recalled that the United Nations via one of her leading agency, the United Nations Population Fund is spear-heading a state wide HIV campaign tagged, Wise Up Cross River.

The Honourable Commissioner was particularly enthralled by the youthful volunteers who were encouraging fellow youths to maximise the full potential of opportunities that the Wise Up Cross River campaign availed. She commended the wife of Cross River State Governor’s pet project, Mediatrix Development Foundation (MDF) and other partners in making possible what she described as ‘awesome’ and ‘beautiful’.

In her words, ‘It’s such a beauty to see what the Wise-Up Cross River State is doing here at the zone, it’s so amazing to be here. It is awesome to see youths come out to  encourage other youths to live healthy; there’s no better feeling.
‘Thumbs up to UNFPA for this brilliant idea and also the Mediatrix Development Foundation (MDF), the Cross River State Ministry of Health (CRSMOH), the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency (CRSPHCDA), Medical Women Association of Nigeria Cross River State chapter (MWAN, CRS) and other partners for making this possible.

‘The youths are really having fun and getting enlightened at the same time; it’s so amazing. We shall continue to push for a healthy Cross River State in the best ways possible, and this is one of such ways. Thank you.’ she concluded.
