Ambekemo Takes over as Cross River State NYSC Coordinator

The newly posted NYSC coordinator for Cross River State, Ambekemo Eniola have formally taken over the mantle of leadership from Mrs Anidobi Ifeoma, who has already reported to NYSC Oyo state secretariat.
During a handing over ceremony at the NYSC Secretariat, Calabar which was followed by introduction of the new NYSC head to the chairman of the NYSC Cross River state Governing Board, Comrade Okang Asu, the state coordinator thanked the NYSC Director General for finding her worthy of leading the Scheme in the state. She appreciated the laudable achievements put in place by her predecessor and promised to continue with the already existing cordial working relationship between the state and the National Youth Service Corps Scheme.
Eniola also promised to carry the staff along, in order to achieve the much needed success, saying staff welfare which is central on NYSC Director General’s agenda would be replicated in the state for efficient and effective service delivery.
Earlier in her valedictory, the out going state coordinator, Mrs Anidobi Ifeoma thanked management and staff of the secretariat for thier dedication and support, charging them to extend same to her successor.
In his remarks, while receiving the state coordinator in his office, shortly after the handing over ceremony held at the state secretariat of the NYSC, the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development and Chairman, NYSC Cross River State Governing Board, Comrade Okang Asu, welcomed Ambekemo Eniola to the state on behalf of the Government and good people of Cross River state, assuring that the government of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade is passionate about youth development, and therefore, ready to support moves for partnership between the state and the NYSC for the benefit of Cross Riverians.

Comrade Asu, described Governor Ben Ayade as a performer, as attested by the multiple awards of excellence bestowed on him in recent times. While commenting on the state of facilities at the NYSC Orientation camp Obubra, the Commissioner said “the need for restructuring and improving facilities at the NYSC Orientation camp Obubra have already received adequate attention from the Governor because it has been captured in the 2017 budget”.
The commissioner also pointed out that the ministry of Youth and Sports on its own, is pushing for public private partnership to expand hostels accommodation and other structures on the camp, through project MABEL, whose aim is to allow individuals and corporate bodies to built such facilities and have thier names engraved on them.
Comrade Asus, discribed the outgoing state coordinator as a very committed and administrator who was bent on developing the state and the NYSC Scheme, especially her push for Corps welfare and infrastructural expansion of the NYSC Camp for the benefits of Corps Members and the state. He gave a strong words of guarantee to the newly posted state coordinator, saying “alot of development programmes and projects will start hatching during your tenure” he added.
