CRUTECH Alumni to Hold One Day Retreat on Corporate Participation

Determined to  bring members up to speed with their social responsibility to their former institution, the National Executive Council (NEC) of Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH Alumni Association is set to hold a one day corporate participation retreat for members.

The event which is billed to hold on Saturday January, 28 at Transcorp Hotels, Calabar have received endorsement from top businessmen, academics and politicians including the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. John Gaul Lebo who is expected to deliver the keynote address.

The National Organizing Secretary of the association, Engr. Nchu Sunnyskipo Otu while briefing newsmen in Calabar said that the retreat is designed to train and retrain members and partners on the need to work together to ensure the dream and aspirations of the founding fathers of CRUTECH is realized.

Otu regretted that many people after graduation have forgotten about the dreams of the university adding that the university management alone should not carry the burdens of the institution.

According to him, "I want to invite everybody including you the press men to our one day retreat with the theme: "Teaming and Corporate Participation: The Case of CRUTECH Alumni". It will hold at the Transcorp Hotels, Calabar by 10 am and participation is free and open for everybody.

"Our institution is over ten years and for us, although we're not yet highly placed in the society, but we want to harness our potentials to see to the actualization of the dreams of the founding fathers of this great institution".

While appealing to members and the general public to turn out in their numbers for the program, the Organizing secretary added that "We are engulfed in a society where we need to come together. We need to see this university as a state project and not leaving it at the mercies of the management.

"The program will be rewarding because we have carefully selected great academics to come and share their experiences with us. Professors Babson Ajibade and Uduak Effiong and Engr. Adie Awafung will be our guest lecturers while the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Gaul Lebo will give us the keynote address. So it's a program that everybody should attend".
