Indicting affidavit by bailiff suggesting UNICAL declined collecting injunction
Efio-Ita Nyok|26 January 2017
The authority of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Tuesday 24 January 2017 declined collecting the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Calabar Division, Cross River State injunction barring her from interviewing and employing a new Bursar of the academic institution NegroidHaven has learnt.
Second leaf of affidavit
According to available documents, the University of Calabar refused collecting the Enrollment of Order served to her by the court Bailiff, Akam Simon. Albeit, he succeeded in dropping the order at the Legal Unit of the University of Calabar, swearing an affidavit to that effect.

On the 23rd of January the dethroned Bursar of UNICAL, Mr Peter Agi via his legal counsels Chidinma Nancy Nwajiobo and Michael Nkwan filed an interim injunction barring UNICAL from interviewing and employing a Bursar pending the hearing and determination of ‘the motion on the notice for interlocutory injunction’.

The interlocutory injunction is sought and obtained pending a suite filled by the sacked bursar challenging the termination of his appointment.
Enrollment of Order/Injunction
University of Calabar is rumoured to have locked the administrative block and old registry to avoid being served the injunction notice and was said to have held the interview for a new bursar in an unknown venue. Thus, one Mrs Beatrice Igwe was employed yesterday. Efforts to elicit a reaction(s) from the relevant authorities of the University of Calabar especially bordering on the locking of the Administrative Block and Old Registry has proved abortive.
Second leaf of injunction
Recalled that on Thursday 3rd November 2016 the services of the erstwhile Bursar of the University of Calabar, Mr Peter Agi, was terminated by the school authority.

Subsequently, the school announced for application entries for a new Bursar and last week on the 17 of January the National Industrial Court sitting in Calabar sacked Agi’s suit challenging his termination on the premise of lacking jurisdiction.
