Colombia midfielder James Rodriguez is ready to secure his place in the Madrid eleven as he has pleaded with Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane to go with him for their Copa clash with Celta Vigo.

Reports according to Don Balon; says Zinedane Zidane has concerns over James' fitness and has told the midfielder not to stretch himself as he recovers from a knock.

Real Madrid are currently down with injury concerns, with Isco and Gareth Bale currently on the sidelines, and the Colombian says he's ready and wants to feature for the team, with Real 2-1 down from the first-leg.

James wants to secure his position for the team after months of unrest concerning his future at Madrid, and he knows staying out or been laid out from the squad due to injury would dent the opportunity to do so. The Colombia international feels this is his chance to prove himself to Zidane and stated his case for selection yesterday.

Rodriguez has been speculated for an exit from Madrid with several clubs across Europe, the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, Bayern and Juventus closely monitoring his situation at the club. But he has proven to wants to battle it out for his place despite fueling speculation of an exit after addressing the crowd immediately after the final whistle as Madrid won the Fifa club World Cup.

Zizou is yet to confirm if he will chose to include him in the squad as his fitness is still been put on check.
