Super Eagles captain and Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has finally left Chelsea for China confirmed officially by Chelsea. Mikel Obi who made his debit for Chelsea in the Year 2006/07 season, having arrived from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo in a controversial deal after initially signing for Manchester United.

Mikel ended his debut campaign with two winners' medals: the League Cup and FA Cup. He lifted the latter trophy four times in England while playing for Chelsea.

John Mikel Obi 29-year-old is Chelsea's longest serving player after John Terry, having spent 10 and half years with the Blues and has played a total of 372 times for the Blues scoring six goals.

Mikel is one of a select band of five foreign players in our history to have reached the 300-game landmark – alongside Chelsea greats Petr Cech, Didier Drogba, Branislav Ivanovic and Gianfranco Zola.

Mikel takes his wealth of experience to Chinese side Tianjin TEDA, having featured under several coaches, with the likes Jose Mourinho, Guss Hindink, Raphael Benitez, Philippe Scholari, Carlo Anceloti, Andras Villas Boaz and Roberto Di Mateo.
