Hon. Emmanuel Ibeshi, the Special Envoy/Liaison of Cross River State to the African Development Bank appointed by Mr Ben Ayade the Executive Governor of Cross River resigned his appointment with the government of the state on the 20th of December 2016 NegroidHaven can confidently inform.
Hon. Ibeshi's resignation is contained in a leaked document personally signed by him on 14 June 2016 but stamped-received by the government of Cross River on 29 September 2016. Reports has it that the Governor had pleaded with the former gubernatorial aspirant to withdraw the resignation which he did. However, on the 20th of last month he turned it in again declining pleas for withdrawal.
It will be recalled that Hon. Ibeshi the astute, urbane and charismatic leader had represented our dear state, Cross River in his twenties as a Honourable member of the lower legislative chamber of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (House of Representatives) between 1991-1992 and was the first elected National Publicity Secretary of the PDP who also vied for the office of the Governor of Cross River State 2015 but lost to the incumbent Governor, with a strong zeal, desire and enthusiasm to contribute his quota to the growth and development of the state irrespective of his inability to clinch the party ticket to contest as Governor, decided to support the eventual winner of the election and took up an appointment as Special Envoy/Liaison Cross River State to African Development Bank.
With this, he has manned the office for months but reliable information reaching our table from our sources at Governor's Office has it that his resignation is borne out of the fact that he has more challenging engagements and national call to service.
His resignation letter as information has it, has it that he has offered to assist wherever his services are needed as a Cross Riverian but not as an appointee of Government. It will be recalled that Hon. Emmanuel Ibeshi is a close confident of the Governor and rumours have it that some of the implemented projects of the incumbent government are extracts of Emmanuel Ibeshi's blue print and manifesto which he circulated to the public prior to the party's primaries.
