Nig. Youth Congress: Comr Odey Ogbor inaugurated state Vice Chair, other officers installed

Over the weekend Comrade Odey Friday Ogbor was sworn in as the substantive Vice Chair (North) of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Cross River State chapter NegroidHaven can report.
The 21st January ceremony of inauguration was performed at the state secretariat of the NYC CRS located at Grace Edet street, State Housing, Calabar. The exercise was performed by Comr. Dan Obo the Chairman of the NYC, Cross River chapter.
Before the swearing-in proper Comr Obo while addressing the youthful audience charged them to support the Prof. Ben Ayade-led administration of the state. He encouraged the youths across the state to render useful advice geared towards taking the state a step further. He advised that their support should be all round. In his statement which read in part he said, ‘if there’s anything that you can do to assist the Governor Ben Ayade administration, please do. If there is anything you can do to help the Rose Oko Senator, please do.’

In his acceptance speech, Comr Ogbor pledged his unalloyed support to the progress, enhancement and development of Nigerian Youth Congress in view of actualising far reaching changes in society at large. He employed the opportunity to appreciate the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Mr Ben Ayade over what he referred to as ‘creating a conducive and enabling environment for Cross Riverians and non Cross Riverians alike in terms of security… Mostly, the massive appointment so far given to the youths. He finally announced his intended pet project, Emancipate the Youth which according to him is aimed at reforming ‘the love of the youths and society at large and changing the way youths think when it comes to civic responsibility’.

Also sworn in were local government areas chairmen from the northern and southern senatorial districts including Yala, Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Ogoja, Bekwarra, Obudu, Obanlikwu etc. Comr Ogbor in being state Vice Chair (North) becomes the leader of northern Cross River.
NYC dignitaries present at the occasion were Comr. Dan Obo (state Chairman), Comr. Ilefa Justin (state Deputy Chairman), Comr Pamela Ofem the Vice President of Cross River University of Technology Students Union Government, Comr. Patron Okon (state Secretary), Comr. George Ajangson (state Vice Chairman – central), and Comr. Juliet Manyo (state Treasurer).
