Yesterday 17 January the National Industrial Court convened yesterday and ruled against plaintiff Peter Agi on the basis that his suit lacked jurisdiction.
Barely one hour after this definitive court ruling in favour of the University of Calabar, the Vice Chancellor Professor Zana I. Akpagu was seen in the midst of a huge party obviously celebrating the victory.
Hmmmm… The scene of this jollification  looked like the victory one secure in an election-related suit.
Enthusiasts gyrating after the ruling
According to a journalist, Richard Romanus, ‘Celebration time for the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Zana Akpagu and his supporters on their Court victory against Mr Peter Agi, erstwhile bursar of the institution… What a sweet victory!!!’
I thought the suit was between Peter Agi and University of Calabar, and not the Vice Chancellor. Just thinking out loud anyway.
Congratulations to the Vice Chancellor, management and University of Calabar.
