In a statement signed by Leke Adeboye, the last son of Pst. Adeboye and Personal Assistant, he posited that there is a need to clarify the misconception and misrepresentation about Pst. Adeboye's retirement from active ministry and oversight function in the Redeemed Christian Church of God,
According to Leke Adeboye, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye remains the General Overseer, Worldwide of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
He further clarified that Pastor E. A. Adeboye’s announcement at the Annual Ministers Thanksgiving held at the Redemption Camp earlier today, Saturday that the Church in Nigeria is now to be led by Pastor Joseph Obayemi.
This means in lay man's language that Pst.Joseph Obayemi will preside as "National" or better still (Nigerian) Overseer of RCCG Nigeria, while Pst.Adeboye will remain as G.O of all RCCG churches worldwide (pending on when he would receive the heavenly instruction to act otherwise).
In the same vein, "Leke Adeboye advised all members of RCCG to understand the new structure and go about their service to God and humanity in holiness and soul winning.
He also appealed to members to educate people around them and not spread inaccurate information stressing that Pastor E.A Adeboye remains the General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide".
