Wife of Cross River Gov flags off malaria club in schools

In her bid to cushion the scourge of malaria to the barest minimum at all levels in Cross River State wife of Cross River Governor, Dr. Linda Ayade recently flagged of malaria club in secondary schools across the state.
Dr. Ayade using her Mediatrix Development Foundation NGO flagged off the malaria club in schools beginning from Sacred Heart Girls International Secondary School, Calabar.
Performing the flag off, wife of the governor represented by her Special Adviser, Mrs. Rose Eneji charged student inducted into the club to take every awareness they shall get from being part of the club to their classmates and their peers outside school.
On her part, the commissioner of health, Dr. Inyang Asibong, in an interview with newsmen said establishing malaria club in schools will help boost awareness about malaria and the effect it has on society catching the students young.
Also speaking, the Director General of Cross River Primary Healthcare, Dr. Betta Edu said the initiative by wife of Cross River governor will help make malaria treatment more accessible in rural areas with huge benefits to students.

Both the executive director of Mediatrix Development Foundation, Mr. Jeffery Adamade and representative of United Nations Population Fund described the step by wife of the governor as being in the right direction.
While the principal of Sacred Heart Girls International School, Reverend Sister Agnes Okon expressed appreciation to wife of the governor for her students oriented initiative while praying God to continue to bless her.
Highpoints of the event featured donation of mosquito treated nets, other malaria fighting apparatus; free checkups and special rendition by the Sacred Heart Girls International school choir.
