Information reaching our news desk avers that no less than 8 Nigerian military soldiers have been killed in a recent Boko Haram ambush in the north eastern state of Borno state, a military cum civilian vigilante source asserts.
Our correspondence garnered that the Boko Boys took the duo of the military and vigilante troops off- guard as they suddenly pounced on them with heavy gun fire at about 9:00 am today at Ajirin village in the Mafa area, which is some 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Maiduguri.
According to the report by the men in uniform:
“There was a heavy gunfight. At least eight troops have been confirmed killed and two others injured".
This is sad. We can not stop to wonder when such issues as insurgency would be long dead and forgotten.
