Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade was born on 2 March 1969 instead of 1968, WIKIPEDIA insist!

Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade was born on the 2nd of March 1969 to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Akinsheye Ayade, a native of Kakum, a village in Obudu LGA, northern Cross River State.

The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator, Professor Ben Ayade celebrated his 49th birthday yesterday implying that His Excellency was born on 2 March 1968.

Albeit, Wikipedia the free online encyclopedia has it that Mr Ben Ayade was born on 2 March 1969 implying he is 48 years old.

The Mr Joe Agi SAN Vs CRS PDP with Governor Ben Ayade as third respondent suit highlighted that Ayade was born on three occasions, namely, 1966(which makes him 51 years of age), 1967(50 years of age) and 1968(49 years of age). It’s also rumoured that His Excellency was actually born on 1963 making him 53 years. 

Whatever the true case may be, he was born, at least with certainty, on 2 March.

So, we are grappling with the reality of a human being, Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade, born in real time and space on three occasions —1966, 1967, 1968 and probably 1963!? If Wikipedia doesn’t generate its information automatically it suggests that the data we have therein may have been entered with Ayade giving an approving nod.

If this submission is anything to go by would we logically say that Ayade has a penchant for misrepresenting facts particularly his date of birth?

More worrisome is the fact that the apex court in the land, the Supreme Court of Nigeria even glossed over this discrepancy when it delivered its judgment. Or, has Ayade’s year of birth finally evolved into an academic exercise with that 9th December 2016 judgment? Right activist should inspire the determination of this in court. Hmmm…
