Kogi Governor appoints Nollywood Mercy Johnson and Others as SSA’s.

The Governor of Kogi State,Yahaya Bello, has appointed actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie  as his new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture.

According to a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG), Dr Folashade Ayoade, yesterday March 14th, Her appointment as SSA is in consonance with the Governor's progressive agenda which is aimed at recognising change agents and placing them in positions where they would replicate and catalyse the desired transformation.

In the words of Dr. Ayoade, the purpose for the appointments was to “fill key positions with the right people and to broaden inclusiveness in governance by bringing people from more communities on board.”

Corroborating the story Vanguard, quoted the SSG as saying that:

"54 appointees will serve as Senior Special Assistants
while 9 others will work as SA's to the Governor as Federal Constituency Supervisors for the Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB) Connect Programme".

” The 9 Special Assistants will also act as direct liaisons between the present administration and the Local Government Ward Coordinators of the GYB Connect Programme, ” the statement said.

Some of the achievements of the popular Nollywood diva  includes amongst others:

# The Best Actress award at Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards in 2013 for role in comedy movie “Dumebi the dirty girl.”

# one amongst Google’s Most Searched Nollywood Celebrity held in 2012 & Dec.2013

Prior to this time in 2009, She  won an award for best supporting actress at the African Movie Award show.
