On Tuesday 28th March 2017 many youths with indigeneship traced to the ancient town of Ogoja Local Government Area took to their Facebook timelines to publicly declare their unalloyed support for one of the major contenders in the top race to fill the highest position in the council.
The youths who spoke through their various timelines and several hashtags stated reasons backing their decision. Judging by the hashtags that followed these posts, one could understand that these social media users were chanting their hymns in support of Barr. Paul Ishabor.
Barr. Paul Ishabor is from Nkum-Iborr in Ogoja Local Government Area. He is a practicing lawyer and a firm believer of true democratic governance even at the grassroot level. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and have always been consistent in pioneering several courses aimed at giving overwhelming victories to the party in past elections. His involvement in the politics of the PDP at the state level can be traced back to 2003 where he mobilized the entire PDP youths of the north to fight the opposition of ANPP and NPD (Atam Congress). This struggle ensured victories for Governor Duke, Sen. Greg., Hon. Peter Igbodor of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon. Gab Eddie, State House and Dr. Patrick Idagba as Chairman Ogoja LGA, etc.
From his campaign banners which floats on every Cross River State group on Facebook, his vision reads that he looks forward to an Ogoja that consolidates with the development of Sen. Ben Ayade's led administration. His Vision reads thus:
'To make Ogoja the industrial nerve centre of Northern CRS leveraging on its strategic location while using Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Technical and Vocational Education as the major drivers of the economy.

It is evident that these youths are driven by Barr. Ishabor's youthfulness and his likeness of Governor Ayade’s developmental strides and his zeal to consolidate on Ayade's achievements in the Local Government Area.
