Okpene Dominic is a priceless heir of the rich heritage of Bekwarra. Born and nursed in the family of Mr Joseph Iyaji Okpene of Ichuaninibi & Mrs. Catherine Etwo Olofu of Ishaane Iritem, both of Nyanya-Ulim in Bekwarra.
Dominic's Education from inception to its present height has been paraded with immaculate excellence with defining honors in the Bachelor of Arts and Master's degree in English and Literary  Studies from the prestigious University of Calabar (UNICAL). The University community identified his peculiar performance to offer him an engagement immediately to tap from his wealth of intellect. He has since been decorated with several awards. Dominic's further quest for continuous Education is an inviting appetite.
Dominic's intellectual interactions, social and enlightenment awareness has paraded him as an emblem of premier service. His heart of service has endeared him to many as he has been instrumental in facilitating merit admissions, accommodation and employment opportunities for indigent students. He has inspired young people especially from his kindred heritage Bekwarra in many public speaking  and volunteer avenues.
Notably, in the current digital Cross River state dispensation, Dominic has equally been spectacularly appointed in the youthful Cross River Turnaround quest by His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State, Senator, Professor Ben. Ayade on the 2nd of March, 2016 to serve as the pioneer Secretary of the Cross River State Wharf Landing Committee, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Ukam Edodi.
Okpene Dominic is vast and resourceful! The rich resources and man power of Bekwarra is blessed to have a promising continuum with a man like Dominic.
