NegroidHaven’s Man of the Week is the Obol Lopon of Ugep nation, His Royal Highness Obol Ofem Ubana.
The leading traditional rulers reportedly made this statement on Monday 2 April in respect of the forthcoming local government elections slated for 17 June:
‘I want to also use this medium to tell all politicians in Cross River State that if ITM Ugep does not function well, there will be no political campaigns and elections in Ugep’.
His statement has reportedly sent shocking waves to government house and the powers that be therein. I learnt the governor His Excellency Mr Ben Ayade has sent emissaries to the Obol Lopon.
