Former Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Mr Clement Ebri and Wilfred Inah, chieftain of Yakurr Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) were conspicuously absent, yesterday, at the much talked about reconciliation meeting between Chief Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla and Pst. Usani Usani the Special Adviser to the President on Prosecution and Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Ministry respectively.
Reasons for these absenteeism is yet to be ascertained by NegroidHaven. Recall that the Special Adviser to the President on Prosecution had reportedly claimed that he wouldn't sit at a meeting of Yakurr APC where the incumbent chapter Chairman, Mr. Etta Mbang, would preside over. For the SA, he would sit at a meeting of such, only when Ebri is presiding. However, Ebri was absent.
Some quarters are now querying; should the presence of Obla in a Yakurr APC meeting where Ebri wasn't presiding over be deemed a betrayal? Is he now pitching tent with Minister Usani? Why was Ebri and Inah absent?
Some are praying that the perceived exclusivist character of the Niger Delta Affairs Minister and the alleged opportunistic disposition of the SA Prosecution would be shelved for good. Usani should begin to fund institutional party structures as against building personal structure in the APC Cross River State.
Nevertheless, I must commend the duo of Usani and Obono-Obla for subscribing to peace despite the criticism this move is inciting.
