Yesterday, 27th May at Transcorp Hotels, Calabar Nigerian students of Cross River origin allegedly protested against the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Asu Okan, for reportedly absconding with funds promised and given the students by Cross River Governor Ben Ayade and Akwa Ibom State former Governor Chief Godswill Akpabio NegroidHaven can report. 
Military officers opened live rounds on the protesting students with three students allegedly wounded and hospitalised in University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.

This was allegedly under the order of Commissioner Okan.

This is after spending all day under the scorching sun at the stadium without food to mark the Children’s Day celebration.
Phone calls made to Mr Okan’s contact to hear his side of the incident, as at press time, wasn’t responded to. 
Furthermore, NegroidHaven has learnt that there’s ongoing brouhaha between the Commissioner for Sports, Special Adviser for Youth Affairs, Prince Edward Osim, Special Assistant on Youth Matters, Mr Paul Ajie and Special Assistant Sports, Effiom Efiwatt over the same cash. Details will come soon.
