GOVERNMENT OF CROSS  RIVER 
STATE, NIGERIA 
THE GREATER CALABAR CAPITAL CITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY is a New agency of the state government the bill establishing the agency was passed into law by the cross river state house of Assembly on the 9th of June, 2016 law number 22016, charged with the preparation and regulation of building standards, regulation's of sanitation, management of transportation and provision of security within the state.
  
The agency is determined to correct the current unbridle development and urban sprawling in calabar and also seeks to expand infrastructure into new development areas for the benefits of the larger populace, to decongest the state capital.
The greater capital city development authority calls on citizens to desist from erecting structures under the high tension, to forestall death resulting from  electrocution,citizens should avoid down poles and power lines and ensure that their building are properly earthed as safety measure's.
While we commiserate with the families of victims of the Wednesday,12th April 2017 electrocution tragedy at the football viewing centre at Nyangasang in calabar municipality.
We are also commending the federal government for it moves aim at demolishing structures built under high tension across the country, with cross river as a pilot state.
The greater calabar capital city development authority is out to compliment the effort of the federal government and agency, the Nigerian red cross society, power holding company of Nigeria ( PHCN), communities, group's, security agency's and traditional ruler's to prevent future occurrence of this tragedy .
As the government of his Excellency Sen Prof Ben Ayade is determined to protect lives and property's of citizens . 
Greater calabar capital city development authority urge citizens who are fond of erecting structures under the high tension and telecommunication mass to remove such illegal structures immediately as failure to adhere to this directives, such structures will be demolished at the course of the perpetuators and the will be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others,due to it health and security implications.
In the same vain as the raining season approaches, we urge citizens to avoid erecting structures by water ways, avoid dumping refuse into the drains to avoid floodings, loss of life's and property.
We call on all to emulate the effort of the Governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade aim at maintaining a clean and green cross river state, which the state is noted for. Cross Riverians should as part of their contribution plant tress and grassed on the verges as it would protect those verges from Erosion and check distilling of our drains
Cross River State is noted as the hub of tourism, we urge all Cross Riverians to maintain hygiene and clean environment, by ensuring that waste generated ate properly disposed to prevent outbreak epidemic and flooding in the state.
