MDF, CRSMOH, CRSPHCDA and MWAN Takes UHC Fight to Abi

Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) CRS Chapter in collaboration with the Cross River State Ministry of Health, State Primary Health Care Development Agency and Mediatrix Development Foundation (MDF) amongst others, over the weekend carried out a two day free medical outreach at  the Eja Memorial Joint Hospital, Itigidi, Abi LGA. 
Dr. Ani, in her remarks, said outreach is one of the corporate social responsibility of the association in the quest to achieving Universal Health Care. She also thanked the people of the community for coming out in their numbers and taking advantage of the free medical outreach whilst acknowledging all the forms of supports the association received from individuals and organizations, both far and near, to make the program successful.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Inyang Asibong, lauded the association's initiative and reiterated the commitment of the Governor Ayade-led administration to collaborate with the right people to bring quality healthcare to the people.
The team led by the President of the association, Dr Nchiewi Ani, catered to both the indigenes and residents from across the 10 wards in the LGA. The services provided includes care and distribution of free optical lenses, Hepatitis B and C tests, HIV counseling and testing, Treatment of childhood diarrheal disease, pap smear, Ultrasound scan of the Breasts, Prostate, Abdomen and pelvis, PSA tests, treatment of Diabetes Mellitus, Deworming and treatment of Common infections amongst others.
