A light drama has ensued in Cross River State cyberspace with the death of Rt. Hon. Nkoro Simon Egbong of Ikom II State Constituency in the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA) as Netizens, that is, Internet users are calling on both the People's Democratic Party in the state (PDP CRS) and the Executive Governor of the State to replace the deceased Honourable Member with his wife, Mrs Egbong just as they did recently in the case of the wife of late Rt. Hon. Stephen Ukpukpen of Obudu State Constituency who died in May 2018 and buried in July this year NegroidHaven has confirmed.
Recall that the PDP-led state government under the leadership of the State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade had allegedly sponsored the election of Mrs Abbey Ukpukpen, widow of Rt. Hon. Ukpukpen to replace the deceased husband on the alleged pretext of helping her pay her bills.
What follows are the exact statements of Cross Riverians:

Akiba Ekpenyong

If PDP refuses to file in the widow of the Late House of Assembly member for Ikom 2, then i would cry discrimination.
Oya let's go there. Mrs Egbong must be filed. Meanwhile may the soul of Hon Simon Egbong  RIP.
Comfort Wofai Ikpeme
Hmmm, when i read of that Obudu person, i knew something was fishy somewhere. We are watching.
Ud Ofem
The next potential CRSHA wife/widow replacement loading for Ikom 2 state House constituency. Anything short of that is injustice.  Hope those Assembly honorable members won't start suspecting their wives though.
Efa Oka
Association of Widows of Nigeria are working na play O.
John Offum Edul
Hope his wife is an Ikom woman? So that the Obudu episode will not repeat itself again.
Sankara Ekapong
UD what is going on the state house of Assembly we will do the needful by putting his wife.
Frank Akaba
UD, as if you're in my mind, l just said so on Ifere Paul's post. It's now we'll know if Ben Ayade was "just helping the widow to take care of the children" or it's the game of the more you look, the NOTHING you see (not erstwhile the less you see). This one will tell us if the 'gesture' was genuine or parochial in nature. But my fear is that our CRHA shouldn't be turned into 'CRWHA'. God dey!
Justin Abekavo
30% woman affirmation activated. The Party is Widow caring, Ikom 2 must follow the rule of immediate replacement.

Rest In Peace Honorable
Now that he is dead, following the tradition and the arguments that have been put forward when late Hon. Ukpukpen died, the widow of this man too should also be sponsored to replace him in the Cross River State House of Assembly so that she can have food on the table and fees for her children's school.
Consequently, all married male members of the House of Assembly should watch their backs, henceforth.
Jacob Ashibi
May his soul find rest with the Lord. I think the choice of Hon. Ukpukpen's wife sets a bad precedent if it must continue!
Seriously, late Hon. Simon's wife is now at an advantageous position to make a strong case of continuity. Besides, the trend will significantly endanger the life expectancy of all married male members of the House of Assembly. We shall see
Chrismidas Ikwen
If PDP tries that in IKOM, APC will just takeover the seat immediately because APC is formidable in IKOM with the likes of Senators Owan Eno and Ndoma Egba.
Antee May
One in North, one in Central, my South Honourable members should watch their backs o. RIP to the dead.
BLOGGERTORIAL
The precedent of the PDP with the Ukpukpen incident is instructive.
Funnily, Cross Riverians are saying that that women are in a move of affirmative action, and that male Honourable Members should be wary of their wifes!
Meanwhile, rest in peace Rt. Hon. Nkoro Simon Egbong
