The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s election umpire has declared the September 2018 Osun gubernatorial election inconclusive on the basis that results in about four local governments were outrightly canceled or there were disruption.

It has therefore decided on a rerun billed for Thursday 27th September.

Recall that the dancing Senator Ademola Adeleke  governorship candidate of the PDP is slugging it out with APC guber hopeful, Gboyega Oyetola.

According to the results by INEC, the intent and letter of the electoral law, the margin between the winner, and the second runner must not be less than the aggregate of the cancelled votes.
As the results of the election stand, the total number of cancelled votes is far above the accrued margin between the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This is the reason for the rerun.
