It was a rough date at the office for the Cross River State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Stella Odey and her colleague, the Director General of the Cross River State Investment Promotion Bureau as they struggled to defend Governor Ben Ayade from the boos and jeers from participants at the 2018 FAD FM Political summit NEGROIDHAVEN can say.

This is as the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Mr. Eyo Ekpo and the Senatorial Candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Mr. Anthony Bissong Attah endeared themselves to the crowd.

Mr. Etim Bassey and Mrs. Stella Odey who were panelist at the event which held at the Calabar Municipal Dome got booed when they tried to defend Senator Ben Ayade from the allegations of the Candidate of the Social Democratic Party(SDP), Mr. Eyo Ekpo that he has not performed.

Earlier speaking, Mr. Eyo Ekpo had accused Senator Ben Ayade of failing at the basic rudiments of governance which is why the streets are dirty, water board is not functional and there has been insecurity in the state. Ekpo further stated that ideas are no longer debated at the state executive council level, as none of such meetings have held for a long time now.

But the Director General of the State Investment Bureau, Mr. John Etim Bassey amidst shouts and boos from the crowd tried to defend Ayade. Mr. Etim stated that it is easy to misunderstand government and governance when one is not in power and that Ayade came with a plan to industrialize Cross River and he has been doing that pretty well.

When the microphone was passed to the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Stella she started explaining that unlike Mr. Eyo Ekpo has stated that there has been regular executive council meetings. She had not finished explaining that when the crowd went berserk and started shouting her down.

Earlier, the Cross River State Central Senatorial candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Mr. Bissong drew laughter and cheers from  the audience when he said he is asking electorates to collect whatever money the APC and PDP brings to them and vote for their conscience.

The event which was organized by FAD FM Calabar had as the keynote speaker, Prof. Akin Oyebode and had representatives from INEC and security agencies present.
