The Council of World Wide Presidents, Cross River State has pledged their readiness to mobilize youth from the eighteen Local Government Areas of the State to participate effectively in the 2019 general elections if carried along.

The Council through its spokesman, Comr. Abbey Moses postulated that they have carried out programmes to sensitize students to abhor vices in the 2019 elections but participate as patriots, supporting good governance and true democracy.

Addressing the students' leadership body, the Youth and Sports Development Commissioner, Comrade Asu Okang lauded their resolve to be involved in the electoral process and emphasized the need for active participation from student bodies in the 2019 general elections while promising that there would be adequate and proper inclusion as well as positive engagement of youths in the electoral processes.

Admonishing the students to shun social vices and thuggery in the 2019 elections, Comrade Okang reassured them that student bodies will be adequately represented, advising them not to play student activism to the detriment of their education.

Speaking on scholarship for Cross River students in tertiary institutions, Comrade Okang informed that the change of leadership of the State Scholarship board has affected the procedure and that as soon as a new Chairman is sworn in, students will get their dues.
