PRESS RELEASE

My attention has been drawn to the purported vote of no confidence passed on me, the Chief of CENSA-WW, HRH Chief Obeten Emmanuel Refer to this; A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON HRH CHIEF OBETEN EMMENUEL CENSA WORLD WIDE CHIEF THE 7TH by Peter Ejeh who coincidentally is the CENSA-WW General Secretary and dated 24th November, 2018.

The allegations hinged on misappropriation of funds, abuse of office and disregard for the Executive Council. I would gladly rebut the unfounded and ill-fated allegations, state the status quo and give a glimpse of the journey of CENSA-WW to Eldorado.

Firstly, CENSA-WW has suffered financially over the period of this administration because of the supposed economic decline of some usual patrons of the association. The decline has always been accused on either the general economic instability of the nation or the turn in political activities. 

However, we remained steadfast in ensuring it never seemed so with the projects we embarked upon as an organisation with conscience and the progress of her members at the core of administration.

The Inauguration/Coronation of HRH, Chief Obeten Emmanuel led CENSA-WW Executives was scrumptious and was held at the Cross River State House of Assembly Complex, Calabar. The event the said General Secretary refused to attend because of extreme partisan displays and involvement. As a matter of fact, the Vice President of CENSA-WW, Director of Information, and Director of social were integral and coordinated some activities.

The meeting with Barr. Chris Agara was highly attended by students of the Central Senatorial District extraction of Cross River State. The hundred thousand Naira(100,000) given “was not for project but expressly to enable students return comfortably back to their base.“ Upon receipt of the money, I handed it over to my Chief of Staff for safety. I then called the LGA Presidents to structure the plans for sharing but was shocked when we saw students dragging the money away from him before we could intervene. Meanwhile, he never made any pledge but only promised till after his Primaries.

CENSA-WW also organised a Town Hall meeting at Yakurr Council Hall at Ugep in September, 2018. Peter Ejeh reluctantly attended and was transported freely. The Vice President and Director of Information were in attendance too.

CENSA-WW also had a hangout with Dr. Sandy Onor, a Senatorial candidate and the Executives were duly notified but Peter Ejeh again refused to attend. It may interest you to know that CENSA-WW has 4 active offices and they include, The Chief, Vice President, Secretary and Director of Information. Other offices have been inactive due to certain cogent reasons(even at that, everyone was always notified of the event and plans). So, if the Vice President and Director of Information are aware and attend an event of CENSA-WW, it sufficces to say the Secretary was officially and sufficiently informed but adamantly ignored.

Meanwhile, the General Secretary has consistently refused to attend meetings and has chosen to use the organisation to gain cheap relevance after several calls, messages and sundry communication media have been employed to realign him with the core of our vision failed. It is said that “one cannot drive a car except they’re in the car.” He, like other Executives, has always been duly informed about activities of CENSA-WW but flaunts his capacity to meet the high and mighty and archieve social scores.

CENSA-WW has been on the path of upward mobility even with the palpable challenges surrounding her. We have embarked on noble projects and are still inline to more. We have always sort for advice from stakeholders and students to enable us run an all-inclusive administration and that has proven to be the skeletal frame of our standing tall amonst comity of Associations.

Also, CENSA-WW has a workable and highly respected organogram from the stakeholders, Council of LGA and indeed the entire CENSA-WW ACOLTES. We exhaust these ranks before going out on all issues. The General Secretary has constantly abused his office and dragged CENSA-WW in the mud. He has also accused and indicted shamelessly and inhumanly other Executives who have confirmed their oblivion of the letter. That is, he has assumed totalitarian powers by trivializing the revered office of the Chief and CENSA-WW.

Summarily, after due consultations within the ranks of CENSA-WW, I do hereby proclaim Comr. Peter Ejeh, the CENSA-WW General Secretary suspended until further notice. This suspension takes effect at the release of this statement.

We urge every Censite to remain calm, law abiding and shun any form of social vices especially in a political period like this. We also wish them a blissful Yuletide in advance even as we pray for concessions between stakeholders to enable them return to their campuses.
