The Cross River state Government has frowned at the renewed violent attacks on aides and appointees of Governor Ben Ayade describing the action and barbaric and unacceptable.

In a statement, the Government specifically condemned the recent attack on the Special Assistant Ranch, Ability Akwaji, and Special Assistant Tourism, Sunday Oko, and four others allegedly carried out by staff of Zedici Capital.

It was gathered that, the attack on Akwaji and others was occasioned by a false and unconfirmed allegation from some staff of Zedici Capital that their General Manager, David Chris, had been killed by the Police.

Consequently, Ability Akwaji and the other persons were held hostage for five hours and wounds were inflicted on the Special Assistant in the process. (See attached pictures).

The Government therefore warned that such criminal acts will no longer be tolerated in the state and has advised those perpetrating the attacks to desist forthwith or face the full wrath of the law.
