Nyok|28 March 2019

Mr Godwin Nyiam the Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State in charge of the Department of Public Transportation, DOPT has disclosed why he supported the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state in the just concluded general elections NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively. While revealing why his community in Ogoja, Ekumtak came out en mass to queue behind His Excellency the Governor, he cited the positive character of the governor.
According to Godwin, his support was inspired by the rare character of the governor who is wont to fulfil promises when he makes them. The governor had promised to recruit his services for the greater good of the public and he fulfilled it. Besides, this was about the first instance where Ekumtak in Mbube in Ogoja Local Government had a native as a public servant.
His words, ‘This is the only politician who honours his words. He said I was going to appoint you into public service and in less than a month he fulfilled it. Why my community is supported/supporting me is because this is the first time in the history of that community that somebody in my community has been appointed’.

Continuing Godwin added that, ‘One would be surprised why was I doing all of this? How did I get money when I am not generating revenue from here? And then we bought motorcycles to give to people in the community. That’s because I have no reason to fail. We won the national assembly and the presidential elections as well as the gubernatorial elections.
‘The least votes you could find in my Ekumtak community is 420. Whereas other communities in the south were recording 180, 200, etc.’
