In a 1st December 2019 5:53AM editorial, ThisDay Newspapers has given the Executive Governor of Cross River State, heavy knocks in respect of the 2020 economic blueprint proposed by the state government tagged Budget of Olympotic Meristemasis pegged at 1.1trillion Naira.
For the Nduka Obaigbena-owned newspaper, the christening of the 2020 economic bill is 'grammatical jargons'. The media organisation who identified the governor as someone who enjoys distractions, not serious and rarely people-focused buttressed its claim by saying that Gov Ayade's budget nomenclature 'continue to sound like ideas from a child in a (sic) adult’s body, who had no clue what he was saying himself but was bent on impressing a people, who cared less about his professorial inanity. It’s time for Governor Ayade to grow up and start thinking as well as acting like a governor. His budget plans are not always only empty and unrealistic, but deceitfully designed.'
By the above, ThisDay was referring to the fact that Ayade's 2016 appropriation law was titled, ‘Budget of Deep Vision’; in 2017, he named it ‘Budget of Infinite Transportation’; while in 2018, he preferred ‘Budget of Kinetic Crystalisation’; the 2019 budget was named ‘Budget of Quabalistic Densification’. We already know that ‘olimpotic meristemasis’ is the tag for the 2020 fiscal year.
The national newspaper did not stop there but proceeded to observe that Gov Ayade who only succeeded in impressing himself through 'those highfalutin but meaningless words… has a complex challenge.'
