Yours faithfully has just gathered from a reliable source that Governor Ayade's decision to singlehandedly handpick and impose 17 unpopular chairmanship candidates (with the exception of Boki where people's favourite, John Ewa was picked) on the party, may lead to the disintegration of the party any moment from now.
The structures of the state's PDP may soon fall apart at the seams. My highly placed sourced, also confirmed to me that the three senators from the state and six of the eight Rep members met yesterday and unanimously agreed to leave (for a yet to he disclosed party) the PDP if the structures of the party are handed over to Ayade in the forthcoming congress. They've asked the National to make sure that the congress is participatory; all critical stakeholders should be carried along in line with the standing tenets of democracy.
In other related news, PDP Chairmanship aspirants across the state are already heading to court to challenge the breach of the party's constitution/guidelines in the selection of candidates for the council elections.
Like I wrote preemptively yesterday, the Zamfarasation of the state's PDP may just be around the corner: NEGROIDHAVEN reported about this: https://www.negroidhaven.org/2020/01/cross-river-pdp-rolling-out-zamfara.html?m=1
Stay tuned as I'll be keeping you up to speed on this development!
