The Nigerian Navy Ship Victory in Calabar on Sunday May 24th responded to a tip off when a group suspected to be cultists gathered in a location in Akpabuyo during an initiation.
According to NAN defense correspondent, George Odok, the Navy intelligence investigations suggests there were preparing for a clash between Klans and Black Axe.
The suspected cultists were handed over to the Anti-Cultism and kidnapping Unit of the police through the State Security Adviser South, Mr Ani Esin.
This report sparked furore as some have argued that the group could not conduct an initiation in an Open place like Potomas. A source on social media said 'Some even came with their wives and girlfriend… They were arrested in a drinking Parlor. Not in any bush or any compromising position. Where is even an Evidence to Prove that Dey are Cultists?'
