Gov Ayade applauded by APC C’River stakeholders over proactiveness

Gov Ben Ayade the Executive Governor of Cross River state, who recently defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, has been applauded for his proactiveness in handling the thorny issue of leadership choice in the forthcoming ward and chapter congresses of the APC in the state. 

Ayade was commended by some critical stakeholders sequel to the successful convening and completion of the just concluded Stakeholders Meeting of the Cross River chapter of the APC which held Wednesday 7th July this year.

According to these critical stakeholders of the party in the state, Ayade’s disposition to consensus and concession in the choice of state’s chapter leadership is proactive, reassuring, responsible and applaudable.

On his part, the state Chairman of the party, Sen. Matthew Mbu Jnr, noted that while it must be admitted that His Excellency Governor Ben Ayade’s tact in handling the brewing leadership crisis is commendable, it has further reinforced unity in the state chapter of the APC. This is highly appreciated’.

Bassey Akiba Bassey Akiba an immediate past member CRSHA and APC 2019 House of Representatives candidate for Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency said that ‘His Excellency’s body language in this context has far-reaching political implications across the length and breadth of the state chapter in every ramification. It is commendable.’ He added that indeed the defection of His Excellency to our political fold was not inspired by self-serving antics.

Hon. Davies Etta, member of the Cross River State House of Assembly who represents Abi, informed that the governor’s decision in the last stakeholders meeting was one of its kind that has put PDP and haters of the Ayade’s administration to shame. ‘Many of them were anxiously waiting for the governor to fail, people had badmouth the governor and predicted that our party will be merged in crisis during our ward and chapter congresses but the governor in his wisdom and proactiveness has put all doubt to rest while shaming proponents of failure’ he said.

Bassey Ita the State Publicity Secretary of the APC in Cross River while speaking for the generality of the stakeholders observed that ‘Gladly, the many agitations as to what future our great party will experience in the wake of the massive defection by the Governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade and his retinue of supporters has been rested… The Governor’s assurances that consensus and concessions will greet the choice of party leaders at various strata other that whimsical manipulations and hijack has observably reduced initial tensions established on the premise of suspicions.

‘The party is most delighted with His Excellency for his exemplary display of responsible leadership which has manifested in the stability of the party so far…. On behalf of the great mass of members of our great party, the State Caretaker Committee is very impressed with His Excellency’s concern to build bridges and therefore reassure of a future that is full of glowing realities in our state’, Ita’s statement reads in part.
