CALABAR –The Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON), regarded as the largest sociopolitical mobilization group in the state, has announced plans to host a massive endorsement rally for Governor Bassey Edet Otu to mark his second anniversary in office NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
The announcement was made during a strategic meeting held on Thursday at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar. The meeting brought together over 2,000 ward representatives from the seven local government areas of the Southern Senatorial District, including Odukpani, Biase, Akamkpa, Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Bakassi, and Akpabuyo.
Dr. Prince Michael Nku Abuo, JP, Director-General of CRISPON and Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, addressed members on the purpose of the gathering and the importance of supporting Governor Otu’s “People First” administration.
“This month marks a significant milestone in the leadership journey of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu. In just two years, we have seen transformational governance — from infrastructure development to impactful intervention programs aimed at improving the lives of the common man,” Dr. Abuo stated.
He added that CRISPON will mobilize at least 15,000 supporters across the Southern Senatorial District for the reception and endorsement rally slated for Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the U.J. Esuene Stadium.
“The rally will not only celebrate the achievements of Governor Otu but also serve as a demonstration of continued grassroots support for his administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Similar mobilizations are also planned across the Central and Northern Senatorial Districts,” Dr. Abuo revealed.
During the event, attendees were organized into groups, and committee heads were nominated to spearhead mobilization efforts ahead of the rally. A final pre-mobilization and sensitization exercise will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the same venue.
Princess Okuanwan E., Deputy Director-General for CRISPON South, expressed appreciation to the planning committee and attendees, pledging to safeguard the interests of all members.
