All is now set for the legal tussle between Constitutional Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, First Baba Isa and the Cross River State Government CRSG. Isa is asking the court to determine the legality of some ministries newly created by Gov Benedict Ayade NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
On Monday, 17th February, 2020 Isa will be going head to head in a tense legal battle with Governor Ayade of Cross River State and Mr Tanko Ashang, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Cross River State; this will be at the Federal High Court, No 2, before Justice Simon Amobeda, the judge that handled and later recused himself from the trial of Journalist Agba Jalingo.
Recall that in January, Isa sued the Governor of Cross River State, the Government of Cross River State, the Attorney General of Cross River State and three (3) others, vide an Originating Summons, praying the Court to declare the action of the Governor in creating the Ministries of Aviation, Foreign Affairs and Solid Minerals illegal and unconstitutional.

We can confirm that the Counter Affidavit and Preliminary Objection filed for the Governor and other Defendants were personally signed by Mr Tanko Ashang.
Many Journalists, Human Rights Activists, Good Governance Advocates and several other persons who believe the Governor infringed on the Constitution in creating these ministries, have promised to be at the Federal High Court, No 2, Highway, Opposite PDP Secretariat, Calabar, 9:00am, in solidarity with Isa and to witness this epoch making court hearing.
