As part of build up to the anticipated 28th March 2020 LGA elections billed to hold across the 18 local government areas of Cross River State, the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission, CROSIEC has been served a pre-action notice by the Chairmanship candidate of Young Progressives Party, YPP for Etung LGA, Comrade Ogbe Ebam in respect of perceived outrageous fees charged by the state electoral commission.
The letter is asking the CROSIEC to collect the constitutionally prescribed N10, 000 as against the N810, 000.00 (charged by CROSIEC) as deposit for nomination of candidates into chairmanship office.
Ebam has threatened that should CROSIEC insist on the latter fee against the legal prescription of N10, 000.00 he would contemplate legal redress.
