Gov Ben Ayade calls for evaluation of needs of NYSC Camp in Obubra

Committed to improving the infrastructure at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Obubra, the State Governor, Sen. (Prof.) Ben Ayade has detailed the Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition, Hon. Signor Omang Idiege to carryout an exhaustive inspection and evaluate their immediate needs for prompt Government intervention in preparation for the next set of Corp members due to arrive the State in March, 2020 NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
Speaking during the inspection of the Camp, Hon. Idiege reiterated Governor Ayade's passion for Youth and his commitment to every activity geared towards Youth Development, noting that his passion necessitated the release of over 20 million naira in 2018 and subsequent assistance to facilitate some urgent needs in the Orientation Camp, and that he is willing and committed to do more to ensure that the Corp Members have the best during and after their Orientation exercise.
The Youth Development and Skills Acquisition Commissioner affirmed that Corp Members posted to Cross River State are ambassadors who propagate the happenings in the State during and after their service year, and as a tourist destination for Nigerians and the world, these ambassadors of the State will be given the best the State can afford while serving their father land in the State. He also commended the State Coordinator, Mr. Edwin Chinedu Megwa who he described as a square peg in a square hole and members of staff of the State NYSC for keeping faith with the State Government and for doing their best to ensure the Orientation Camp is working.
Conducting the Commissioner and members of his team around the Orientation Camp, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Megwa expressed appreciation to the State Government for its timely response to their request while also expressing optimism that with Him. Signor Idiege's visit to the camp, is an indication of Governor Ayade's zeal, passion and commitment to give the Orientation Camp a facelift.
The NYSC State Coordinator however solicited for the intervention of the State Government in the provision of portable water supply to the camp, electricity, renovation of hostel and additional new hostels to accommodate more Corp Members, rebuilding of the fallen parameter fence, erosion control, revamping of the camp clinic with health gadgets, and the construction of at least 3,000 capacity multi purpose hall and an administrative block.
Also with the Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition during the inspection tour of the orientation camp was the Director Administration of the Ministry, Chief Barr. Egbala Edom and the Head of Department, Youth Mobilization and Orientation, Mrs. Immaculata Ekpenyong.
