The state secretariat building of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Calabar the Cross River state capital has been stripped NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.
According to reliable sources, the governor of the state, Ben Ayade, who officially defected on Friday to the All Progressives Congress, APC, wishes to use the facility for the APC new Secretariat.
The MM Highway Calabar building had served as the Cross River PDP secretariat since 1998.
There are two additional APC State Secretariat buildings in Calabar, one at Barracks Road (reportedly Owan Enoh’s faction) and Marian Road immediately after Atekong Junction (reportedly Usani’s faction). Implying, the APC in the state has 3 state secretariats.
This move by the governor has been greeted with criticism as it has implications for upsetting the peace in the state.
